Direct Sum of Representations
Given $G$-representations $(V, \rho)$ and $(W, \sigma)$ (Definition~Group Representation), their direct sum is $(V \oplus W, \rho \oplus \sigma)$ where $(\rho \oplus \sigma)(g)(v, w) = (\rho(g)v, \sigma(g)w)$.
